The plot of every novel is not the same. Sometimes the issue being addressed is not represented by a single character or even a group of characters in the novel.

Thus, in this particular novel, there is no antagonist. The novel merely seeks to examine the life of the average Nigerian (Omotayo) immediately after independence in light of the cultural and structural obstacles he had to contend with to achieve his dreams.

Who arrested Tayo (the protagonist) can it be term as those who are against him, can it be term as the state govenment who are in power. Because they warn him of his articles that he writes, about the affairs of the govenment as it is against there wish and they hate Tayo his articles. pls help me think and suggest, is it the people in power of the govenment and the politicians can be term as the antagonist in the novel. pls.
