Equal Salary For B.Sc/HND Graduates In Paramilitary Agencies: A Step In The Right Direction

Like we announced earlier, the Federal Government has abolished the Dichotomy between HND graduates and their BSc counterparts in all paramilitary agencies in terms of salary structure.

The implication of that is all HND and B.Sc entry level graduate will be on the same level (COMPASS 08) which comes with same salary structure.

Obviously, this is a welcome development as most HND graduates have suffered discrimination when it comes to salary structure and promotion especially in the Civil service.

For those who have been following this issue, you will agree with me that this is the first practical step the Federal Government has taken to resolve this issue.

This is the kind of approach that will completely end the issue of B.Sc and HND dichotomy that has lingered for years.

We just hope and pray that other Government agencies and parastatals as well as private establishments will follow this trend and finally put an end to this issue.

We would like to get your thoughts and contributions on this . Feel free to drop your comments.

This is good news. God help us, cause the discrimination is just something else which is equally the reason why some candidates have refused to go for polytechnic, thereby wasting years at home. God help us.

This has been a thorn in the flesh of HND holders for decades. Prayer is that the private sector will quickly recognize this move. The best way is for the government to make it into law, and no employer will flaunt it

Well as for me,I would have loved to see the federal government and the education sectors coming up with ; how to resolve and restore this issue of Degrees and certificate awards. Because it pains that certificate is valued more than Education itself.
Yes, they have tried though but how conditional is it? and when will it be implemented? That's the question...

Apart from ensuring strict adherence to this, Postgraduate before Masters should also be abolished. Those to apply for Postgraduate should only be those University graduates with Third Class and Polytechnic graduates with Pass. Hence, Those with Distinction, Upper and Lower Credit should be allowed to go for their Masters like the University'.
