UI 2012/2013 Admission Process

One fact dose of u dat chuzd ui shud no is dat ui use both waec and jamb 2 invite students 4 their p.utme. They invite very few cand. 4 their p.utme. So, as much as u passd jamb wit a high mark, make sure ur o'level is ok though u must hav 200 and above b4 tinkin of dis cos its a fed uni.
Another fact is dat once invited and u scored 50% and above, u ar sure of bin admited but may nt b d course u applied ie if u dont make ur required p.utme score 4 ur department.
Then now d problem of ui aspirants shud b 1st 2 make d invitation cut off points 4 dia respectiv courses. These pts is nt made known until cand. Submit their o'level and jamb scores during reg 4 d putme each yr. D school works on it and releases d pt on d rliz of names of invited cand. Wot i'm trying 2 point out is dat d invitation 4 dis yr is nt known, but we ar 2 use last yr cut of and 2010 so dat u no ur stand.
This is how U.I
calculate their point for O'level
and JAMB.
For O'level:
A1 - 6points
B2 - 5points
B3 - 4points
C4 - 3points
C5 - 2points
C6 - 1point
that is in ur 5 relevant subject
For JAMB:
Any thing u score divided by 10.
So now add ur O'level points
2gether and times it by 2
anything u score add it with ur
JAMB score that have been
divided by ten.
Eg. Assuming i hav A1 in my 5 relevant subjects. When i add, i hav 30, multiply by 2, den my o'level point is 60/60.
I hav 251 in my jamb, so my jamb pt is nw 25.1.
Finally, my o'level + jamb pt = my weighted pt. ie 60+25.1=85.1

is it tru dt wen ui post jamb form is out i wil av 2 travel 2 ui 2 submit my ssce nd jamb result?

@dammiesmile No, everyfin is online as ui hav consistent ICT Unit. Ui wil ask u 2 pay d reg fee in2 their account numb @ any of their selected bank acros d country. After dis, u ar 2 submit ur teller number online durin wich ui wil send u ur pin wich has alredi bin customise 2 ur jamb reg no 2 ur email dat u av alredi bin submited. Den u'll nw log in wit d pin sent 2 u to their site where u submit ur o'level, jamb result and ur personal info .
So, there's no nid 2 travel 2 ui, jus stay where ever u are and do reg 4 d putme. Den come over 2 ui if invited and take d exam.

yes a sci student can! D required subjects 4 d calcn are Eng, Maths, Econs and any two more social science subjects lets say geography, crs or lit-in-eng, any can go dependn on d person's o'level.

Pls how is their post ume 4 agricultural faculty. Hw many questions and wat is the overall score. Is there interview afta post ume? Plssss...

@ adegoke there's no interview afta putme. D interview method was changed last yr 2 p.utme.
4 al faculties d p.utme subjects are just as same as ur jamb subjects consisting of 100 questions '25 from each subject' and shud b written for 1 hour 30mins. Ur overal score is jus /100% wich means dat each question carries 1 mark.

When i calculated my point i got 61.3, in total when i added f/maths to part of my 5 basic subject.......and 65.3 when i replaced f/maths with T.D.....my questn is would i be in invited for their p.utme for mechanical engineer.....and wich subject is better btw f/math and T/D for mech eng

@ tunny yes, 4 sure ui accepts 2 sittings, only if one of d subject in ur o'level is deficient. So, ur waec and neco can go.

@ Ediku start prep 4 d putme since akwa ibom is among d ELDS (Education less developed states) which has a diff cut of in ui. As of last yr d ELDS cut of pt is 63.5 for mech engr.
So, i suggest yle submitn ur o'level online, TD shud b among ur top 5 nt fmaths cos 4 engr u either hav TD or FMaths. According 2 ur o'level, u hav beta pt wit TD dan FMaths.
Study 4 ur putme 4 there's no preference 4 ELDS when giving admission.

After calculatn my point i had 49.5,with economics as my course what are my chances of call-up?
