RSUST, RSUOE Suspends Strike but...

Yes, the Rivers State University of science and technology (RSUST) and the Rivers State University of Education have finally agree to go back to school. This action comes with a very big clause as the ASUU body in the state have threatened to continue the strike if the 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement is not implemented by the 1st April, 2011.

The schools have been on strike since October 2010, when the state government failed to implement the 2009 FG/ASUU agreement.

The strike was therefore suspended to enable the Rivers State Economic Advisory Council (RSEAC) facilitate the implementation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU agreement on or before 31st March, 2011.

Students are by this notice advised to resume at school with immediate effect and pray that the issue is totally resolved before the 31st of March or else prepare to go on another strike action.
